Ex- National Football League Player Antonio Brown Enters Innocent Plea in Attempted Murder Charges
One-time National Football League player Antonio Brown is traveling to Miami to confront an attempted murder charge related to a gunfire that took place in May, as his counsel filing a not guilty declaration on his behalf.
Detention logs in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was freed on Tuesday early for his relocation to the state of Florida. Brown, one of the most popular athletes in the National Football League, had forgone transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was detained after being taken into custody in Dubai.
Brown’s counsel, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an email that he has already filed a written not guilty plea to the murder attempt accusation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as soon as Wednesday morning for a bond proceeding, Eiglarsh stated.
As per his apprehension document, Brown is charged of grabbing a handgun from a safety employee after a star boxing event in May and shooting a couple of shots at a man he had clashed with before. The reported target, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, told investigators that a bullet grazed his throat.
Eiglarsh stated that Brown was simply safeguarding himself from Nantambu.
“The steps he was compelled to take were solely in self-defense against the alleged person’s violent behavior. Brown was attacked that evening and responded within his legal right to safeguard himself,” Eiglarsh stated.
