Tens of thousands gathered across Australia at rallies supporting Palestine, with organisers vowing to keep demonstrating after a peace arrangement brokered by the former US president in Gaza initially appeared to be holding.

In Australia's largest city, the pro-Palestine organization said a crowd of 30,000 had demonstrated from the central park to a nearby green space in the central business district after a intended demonstration to the famous building was banned by the state judicial body in recent days.
Law enforcement assessed eight thousand participants joined the city demonstration, with a representative saying there had been "no significant incidents".

Demonstrations were also conducted in southern city, Brisbane and Western Australian city on the day of protest to remember the ongoing situation after Hamas attacks on 7 October 2023 caused significant casualties in the region.

Varied Responses to Peace Deal
Various participants shared confidence that the agreement could establish stability. Some were doubtful of the former president's role and encouraged participants to keep pressuring the national authorities to sanction Israel and end the trade in military goods.
One protester, a Palestinian Australian residing in the city, shared he desired the agreement would allow him to bring his elderly mother, who is still in Gaza without access to medical care, to the country, and to locate and inter his brother, sister-in-law and their four children, who have been missing since 2023.

The local protest earlier heard from speakers including several locals released from Israeli detention after the interception of the Sumud flotilla recently.
One activist, his arm in a sling after it was said to be harmed in an incarceration center, informed that insufficient information was available about the peace agreement. International aid organisations, including relief organizations, were preparing to enter Gaza.
"While circumstances persist where there's a brutal and illegal blockade on the territory," stated the participant, flotilla activists would persist in attempting to deliver aid by sea.
A different activist, who came back to the city on Friday, gave an heartfelt address describing his detention with numerous other individuals in a detention facility.
Political Statements
The elected official the legislator told the crowd: "It's unacceptable to permit a situation where American leadership shapes the destiny of Palestinians to be the kind of world that we live in."
One activist who submitted the original application to protest at the iconic venue claimed that the participants could have peacefully gone to the iconic waterfront location. The senior police representative had earlier informed the court of appeal that the arrangement appeared dangerous.
The organiser said on Sunday: "Every single time the authorities try to restrict our protests or legal challenges, it increases community attention... to the need to mobilise and resist these measures."
